I know I’m a little late posting this video, but know some of you will still find it relevant and of value. Let the iHustle masses know what you think – post a comment by clicking the "comments" link below.
I don’t think the nature of this blog will ever become political, but we must admit… Life is political. On that note, I believe we have to stay current with what’s going on out there. Super Tuesday is a huge day – politically speaking. This could really determine who’s going to be the nominee for YOUR political party of choice.
Some may say who cares… but I think the true iHustlers out there will recognize just how involvement in the political process affects us and our community (If you don’t understand call me and we can have a long talk about it).
People always say, "What can one vote do?" but that’s the exact reason why our community’s voices aren’t being heard – because each and every ONE of us didn’t care enough to vote.
I encourage each of you vote in your local primary race if it hasn’t happened yet. If lean to the Democratic side, great! Go vote from Hillary or Obama. If you lean Republican, that’s great too. Go vote for McCain or Romney. I all care about is that you make sure you’re opinion is heard and you stop being indifferent about the process.
Remember this… Indifference is worse than failing!!!
iHustle stand up… Go Vote!
Ok. I’m not going to step out and say if I think he’ll be our next president. I’m not even going to say whether or not I think he is ready or experienced enough to run for the presidency. Those questions are better left to be debated on Sunday morning talk shows (at least for now).
I am going to give props to Barack Obama for being on his political hustle the past two years. We never even heard of this guy a few years ago and today we’re talking about his chances of becoming the most powerful man on earth a couple of years from now. Sure Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton ran for president, but we all knew they wouldn’t win. They knew they wouldn’t win. It was just a political statement of sorts (a statement I appreciate). But today… We actually have an African American with REAL potential to run and possible win.
I listen to Obama’s podcast once a week and follow the activities on Capital Hill… And the one thing you can say about him is that he is above the normal rhetoric of modern day politics. There is real substance to what he says. I’ll even go out on a limb to suggest that he’s sincere (of course only time will tell, we’ve been fooled before).
He just may be a perfect example of how truth, sincerity, and honesty are a Hustler’s best friend. As Lewis reminded me of the other day… Sometimes people just want to hear the truth not rhetoric or creative sales pitches.
Nonetheless… pay close attention to this guy over the next few months. He is definitely on his Hustle and one day could affect yours!!!
