What was that thing that you wanted to do as a child? The thing that you dreamed about. The thing that you thought about all the time, and when you thought about it, you were happy.
What would you do if you knew you were about to die. I would presume that most of us would do the most outrageous things. Those things that we would normally not do. Hmm… You would probably take a risk. You would probably take that vacation that you always wanted to take. Skydive, bungee jump, sing your lungs out, run around the house naked, grow your hair out, start a new hobby. You would probably live those remaing days without restriction. You would probably live your life in freedom. You would probably do that thing that you always wanted to do.
Funny how death places in perspective life. The imminent threat of death forces us to face life, how we have lived life and how we are living life. At that moment will you be satisfied with the results? If not there is something you can do now. Ask yourself, "Am I dying?" Yes, this maybe a strange question to ask especially if you have not been diagnosed with a chronic disease. But maybe it’s time for a self diagnosis. Look at death from this perspective: a state of not living life. Hmm…
Here is the secret: you are never to old to do you.
Also, if you are facing death, then start living life.
